Bear Grylls tells people to eat testicles for health benefits and to 'stay strong'

Adventurer Bear Grylls has lauded the health benefits of eating organs such as liver, heart….and testicles.

The TV star said his diet was built around “grass-fed, good quality” red meat, raw dairy and fruit as well as organs.

He steers clear of bread and pasta and avoids processed foods, as they contain what he calls “damaging” seed oils.

The former soldier has put his face to a dietary supplements range that includes “beef thyroid” and “beef lung”.

But his heralding of the health benefits of testicles raised plenty of eyebrows from his fans online.

He took to Twitter to share a short video detailing his daily diet and sharing his nutrition tips on how to “stay strong”.

The 48-year-old said: “I’m often asked my secret to having the energy to tackle some of life’s toughest challenges?

“Nutrition is key, as is resistance training, sunlight, cold water and fun community.

“We should be eating pancreas and heart and all of that sort of stuff, and testicles. All that is so good ancestrally and naturally.”

His advice sparked some heated debate on social media, with one fan tweeting: “Gotta love those testicles.”

Another posted: “Haha dude you went from vegan to eating balls. Legend.”

Bear’s revelation on how he stays healthy comes shortly after he also shared insight into his workout routine – which includes an unforgettable memory from a sergeant.

He said in a recent post that the words of a former SAS soldier have remained etched into his brain every time he does a pull-up.

“I always have the voice of a French Foreign Legion sergeant ring in my ear when I’m doing pull-ups,’ Grylls wrote.

“He used to shout at us saying: ‘a man who can’t lift his body weight is dead weight!’ Whatever it takes to motivate you, eh!”

It’s remained a firm part of his fitness routine, with Bear explaining that he does 25 pull-ups, 50 press-ups, 75 squats and 100 sit-ups just for his warm-up.
