Love Island star urges bosses to make huge change over concerns with All Stars line-up

Love Island star Ched Uzor has shared his fears that the ITV2 dating show is turning into MTV’s Ex on the Beach.

The 27-year-old personal trainer Ched, who appeared in the 2020 Winter series and made the final with Jess Gale, has shared his thoughts on the line-up of the All Series, which is currently filming in South Africa.

Former show exes Jake Cornish and Liberty Poole were both part of the original line-up for the special series and the group of past contestants were later joined in the villa by another former couple Callum Jones and Molly Smith, who broke up just six months ago after meeting on the show four years ago.

Several other Islanders have been forced to live with their former flames, with some critics comparing Love Island to rival reality show Ex on the Beach, in which reality stars appear alongside everyday singles who show up for what they think is a run-of-the-mill love and dating show in paradise, only to be completely blindsided by their exes, with whom they come face-to-face.

Love Island star Ched Uzor has shared his fears that the ITV2 dating show is turning into MTV’s Ex on the Beach.

After watching the first episode of Love Island: All Stars, one confused fan posted on X, formerly known as Twitter: “Why has Love Island turned into Ex On The Beach?”. Another added: “Is this Love Island or Ex On The Beach?”. A third person shared: “Did I watch Love Island or Ex On The Beach because that episode was crazy.”

Joining in the debate, Ched told Daily Star on behalf of stocklytics.com: “Yeah, I feel like that’s where it was going at the start because they started bringing in exes but they need to start bringing in people who people haven’t had a past with so it’s a fresh connection. Obviously they’ve all been in Love Island but bring in people who haven’t really met before and it will be a bit more interesting. It’s not the same as Love Island so you don’t know what is going to happen.

Ched, who is in a happy relationship, also went on to share which former contestants he’d like to see back in the villa as the group of familiar faces battle it out to win £50,000. He explained: “I want to see Mike [Boateng] in there from my series, he’d be good on there or maybe some of the boys from Casa Amor who didn’t get a chance and got kicked off after like three days.

“It would be good to give them a chance to try and find someone. Jack [Fowler] would be good in there too. I was asked twice but I’ve got a mrs and I’m settled and happy. I wouldn’t have gone back in anyway.”

Love Island All Stars airs nightly on ITV2 and ITVX at 9pm
