AceShowbiz – Katy Perry’s new track “What Makes a Woman” is a song of “hope” for her unborn daughter.
The “Daisies” hitmaker is pregnant with her first child with fiance Orlando Bloom and told radio station NRJ Lebanon the track tells her child that there are “no limits on any of her dreams.”
“There is a song on the record called What Makes A Woman that is a hope I have for my future child,” Katy, 35, explained. “That she doesn’t have any limits on any of her dreams, or what she wants to be, or who she thinks she is and she can change whenever she wants.”
“She can try everything on if she wants. I think that song is important to me and important for her,” the singer gushed.
The “Firework” star also spoke about another forthcoming track titled “Teary Eyed”, which she admitted was extremely emotional to write.
She told iHeartRadio, “It’s really about just dancing through your tears… And I’m like, ‘Wow that really resonates. That slaps, that hits hard for me right now. So I’m excited for it. I’m excited for all of it.”
The new tracks are from Katy’s forthcoming fifth studio album, which follows standalone tracks “Never Really Over”, “Small Talk”, “Harleys In Hawaii”, and “Never Worn White”.

  • Katy Perry Delivers Electric Performances at Democracy Summer 2020 Concert

    Instagram

Co-hosted by Logan Browning and Rosario Dawson, the Rock the Vote virtual event also features performances by Black Eyed Peas and an appearance by Senator Cory Booker among others.
    Jun 19, 2020
AceShowbiz – Katy Perry is using her powerful voice to encourage young Americans to register to vote for the upcoming November 2020 election. On Thursday, June 18, the “American Idol” judge co-headlined Rock The Vote’s “Democracy Summer 2020” virtual concert, and delivered three electric performances.
Standing in front of the words, “Vote for the change you want to see,” the 35-year-old first performed her new single, “Daisies”. She wore an American flag-themed dress for the appearance, and completed her look with a star tiara. Accompanied only by a pianist and a guitarist, she went on to sing two of her hit numbers, “Chained to the Rhythm” and “Roar”.
Days prior to her performance, Perry expressed her excitement to be “a part of this kickoff.” In a released statement, she said, “The young people of America are speaking loud and clear on the streets and online, and come November, it will be more important than ever to fight for justice and equality, and against systemic racism, with our ballots.”
The Democracy Summer 2020 concert was hosted by Rosario Dawson and Logan Browning. Aside from Perry, it also featured performances by Black Eyed Peas, Ne-Yo, Saweetie and Leslie Grace among others. The hip-hop group led by will.i.am, in particular, delivered two of their hits, “Mamacita” and “Where Is the Love?”.
About their participation on the concert, BEP previously stated, “We’ve been riding with Rock The Vote for a long time. Now more than ever, voting is key for long-term change. The youth vote is going to decide the future of America. It’s not just our duty, but our honor to spread the word in an election year. Get out there and let’s make history together!”
Among those declaring call to action were Senator Elizabeth Warren, Senator Cory Booker and former Secretary of Housing and Urban Development Julian Castro. Booker made his appearance a short while after Perry delivered her medley.
“Whether it is dealing with justice in policing; dealing with true ideals of public safety, which are not about law enforcement, it’s about investing in people, investing in mental healthcare, investing in drug addiction, investing in education … all of these things are on the ballot,” he reminded. “This is, indeed, the most important election of our lifetime.”

This special live stream kick-off event was presented by a coalition led by Rock the Vote, Voto Latino Foundation, When We All Vote and March For Our Lives. It is aiming to get the registering of 200,000 new voters over the summer. In light of the Black Lives Matter movement, it will also raise funds for Black-led organizations, including the Community Justice Action Fund and the National Action Network.

Katy Perry Delivers Gut-Wrenching Cover of 'Baby Mine' in Dumbo Costume for 2nd 'Disney Singalong'

    Instagram

Hosted by Ryan Seacrest, the star-studded ‘Disney Family Singalong: Volume II’ also presents mesmerizing duets from John Legend and Jennifer Hudson as well as Idina Menzel and Ben Platt.
    May 11, 2020
AceShowbiz – ABC celebrated Mother’s Day with the airing of “Disney Family Singalong: Volume II” on Sunday, May 10. Filled with numerous performances from celebrities, this second show aiming to raise funds for Feeding America amid the novel coronavirus pandemic saw Katy Perry stealing the spotlight with her lullaby cover.
The pregnant “American Idol” judge delivered a gut-wrenching rendition of “Baby Mine” from the 1941 animated classic “Dumbo”. What made her performance unique was the fact that she was dressed up in full costume of Dumbo’s mother, while her dog, Nugget, sat still in her lap wearing Dumbo get-up.

“Best thing on the Disney sing along [LOL emojis] great costume”, “Tweet update: The best thing about quarantine is #KatyPerry and her dog in Dumbo-inspired elephant costumes” and “Your performance brought me to tears. My son’s favorite movie, when he was young” were some of the positive reactions to her performance.

Positive Reactions to Katy Perry’s Dumbo Costume
Not all applauded Katy’s choice of costume though. “She Looks sooooo STUPID,” one viewer tweeted. Meanwhile, another expressed concern at Katy’s dressed up dog. “Poor #dog #KatyPerry don’t make your stay stay in a #dumbo costume,” the commenter wrote alongside a screencapture of Katy’s performance with Nugget.

Before their segment was shown, John took to Twitter to tell Jennifer, “An honor to sing with you!”

Another duet performance gaining praises from viewers was one from Idina Menzel and Ben Platt. The “Frozen (2013)” star and the leading man of “The Politician” belted out their take on another classic ballad, “A Whole New World”, which came from the 1992 Disney movie “Aladdin”.

Hosted by Ryan Seacrest, “Volume II” also featured an individual performance by Halsey and Rebel Wilson. While the “Bad at Love” hitmaker stunned with her cover of “Part of Your World” from “The Little Mermaid”, the “Pitch Perfect” actress offered her take on “Poor Unfortunate Souls” from the same song.

This second “Disney Family Singalong” came one month after ABC hosted the original hour-long concert. Its first show featured the likes of Beyonce Knowles, Ariana Grande and Darren Criss among others as they sang their favorite Disney songs from their living rooms, kitchens and home studios. It aimed to entertain people in self-isolation while raising awareness for charity Feeding America.

AceShowbiz – Katy Perry looks set to bounce back after the coronavirus lockdown, after hinting at a new Las Vegas residency show.
The “Never Worn White” singer, who is currently expecting her first child – a daughter – with fiance Orlando Bloom, teased during a Facebook Q&A session on Easter Sunday, April 12 that a show in Sin City could be on the cards.
A fan called Patrick asked Katy whether a regular gig would be a possibility and, when Katy seemingly saw the question, she said, “Hey Patrick… That one was for you,” after giving a wink to the camera.
Last year, it was reported by the Las Vegas Review Journal that the “Small Talk” singer was seen taking a tour of The Colosseum at Caesars Palace, where Celine Dion played for 16 years.
