  • Little Mix's Talent Show Halted Due to Covid-19 Outbreak Among Crew Members

    BBC

‘The Search’ where Perrie Edwards, Jesy Nelson, Leigh-Anne Pinnock, and Jade Thirlwall are looking for a supporting act for their upcoming tour has to be put on hold due to coronavirus concerns.
    Oct 15, 2020
AceShowbiz – The live shows of Little Mix’s TV talent competition “The Search” have been postponed after a “small number” of crew members tested positive for Covid-19.
Following the audition portion of the show, the live competition stages had been scheduled to start on Saturday (17Oct20). However, after the positive tests, the programmes have been delayed by a week so that those affected could self isolate.
“We can confirm that a small number of people on the Little Mix The Search production have tested positive for coronavirus and they are now self-isolating following the latest government guidelines,” a statement from the BBC read. “Due to the format of the show we have made the decision to postpone Saturday’s programme.”

“There are rigorous protocols in place to manage Covid-19 as the safety of all those involved in the production is paramount. We hope to be back on air on Saturday 24 October.”
The host Chris Ramsey was ‘absolutely gutted” by the delay before adding that he tested negative for the virus. The comedian then made light of the situation, “Let’s be honest, I think if it was me they would just find another presenter and do the show anyway. See you all next week. Crossed fingers.”
The winning act from the series is expected to join Perrie Edwards, Jesy Nelson, Leigh-Anne Pinnock, and Jade Thirlwall on their upcoming tour.
The all-girl group are gearing up for the release of their sixth studio album “Confetti”. It will become their first release under their new label RCA, two years after they dropped their previous set “LM5” through Simon Cowell’s label Syco.

  • Little Mix Takes a Dig at Simon Cowell on New Album

Perrie Edwards, Jesy Nelson, Leigh-Anne Pinnock, and Jade Thirlwall appear to diss their former manager in a new song called ‘Not a Pop Song’ from their upcoming studio album.
    Oct 9, 2020
AceShowbiz – Little Mix appear to namecheck their ex-manager Simon Cowell on a track from their new album “Confetti”.
The girl group started out on Cowell’s “The X Factor U.K.” and have gone on to become one of the hottest bands in the world. However, they switched from his Syco record label in 2018 amid rumours of a feud and are now signed to RCA.
According to British newspaper Metro, the new track “Not a Pop Song”, released Friday (09Oct20) ahead of “Confetti” debut next month, suggests the music mogul treated the iconic girl group like “puppets on a string.”
The lyrics read, “I don’t do what Simon says / Get the message cuz it’s read / That’s just life it never plays fair / Said to follow any dream, be a puppet on a string / Works for you but that isn’t me / This ain’t another pop song.”

However, a source close to the group told the publication, “It’s not b**chy – and isn’t meant in a b**chy way at all. They think Simon will see the funny side of it – as they know he loves attention and will think it’s all playful. It’s about them growing up and becoming women in a way.”
“Confetti” is the band’s sixth studio album, following 2018’s “LM5”. It is their first release with RCA.
This year, Perrie Edwards, Jesy Nelson, Leigh-Anne Pinnock, and Jade Thirlwall launched their own talent show on BBC. The winning act from the series is expected to join the all-girl group on their upcoming “Confetti” tour.

    Sep 28, 2020
AceShowbiz – Little Mix “cried the whole time” while working on their new TV talent show “Little Mix: The Search” because they were so “involved” with the contestants.
The show, which debuted in the U.K. on Saturday, September 26, features Leigh-Anne Pinnock, Jesy Nelson, Jade Thirlwall and Perrie Edwards putting together and mentoring new bands, who will compete for the opportunity to support the “Black Magic” stars on tour next year.
Speaking to Britain’s Daily Mirror newspaper, Perrie opened up on the process of creating the show, sharing: “There have been a lot of tears and we’ve had sleepless nights thinking about the bands. We’re that involved.”
“I just cry to my mum the whole time,” she continued. “She goes, ‘I know it must be very emotional but you’ve got to stay strong. You’re experienced in this now.’ And I’m like, ‘But it’s really hard’. It’s been an emotional rollercoaster”.

The band won “The X Factor U.K.” in 2011, but Jade claimed splitting from boss Simon Cowell ‘s record label Syco in 2018 left them “f**ked over”.
Comparing their own programme with “The X Factor”, Leigh-Anne insisted: “There’s no gimmick acts, it’s just about vocals.”
In addition to watching the programme on TV, fans can also go behind the scenes by listening to a new podcast, in which social media influencers Megan Jayne Crabbe and Stephanie Yeboah spill secrets from the set of “Little Mix: The Search”.

  • Jesy Nelson Has Panic Attack During Little Mix Live Performance

    Instagram

The ‘Odd One Out’ star bursts into tears as she suffers from panic attack during a live performance with her girl group on BBC Radio 1’s Live Lounge session.
    Sep 16, 2020
AceShowbiz – Little Mix star Jesy Nelson’s anxiety battle came to the fore during a BBC Radio 1 interview on Tuesday (15Sep20) when she suffered an anxiety attack before a live performance.
The singer suffered a panic attack and burst into tears during the Live Lounge session and had to be comforted by her bandmates.
Fans jumped on social media to express their concern, but Jesy was quick to assure them she was OK.
“So my nerves got the better of me today and I had panic attack right before we were about to sing this for live lounge today and like a pro @perrieedwards jumped in for my part last minute and smashed it,” she wrote on her Instagram.
“This is what we originally did in rehearsals.”

Nelson has been very open about her mental health issues, winning acclaim and honours for her 2019 documentary “Jesy Nelson: Odd One Out”.
In May (20), she admitted the best thing she did for her mental health was film the BBC documentary and talk about her struggles.
“I honestly feel like I was just carrying this huge weight around on my shoulders and for such a long time it was such a huge secret, obviously only the girls knew and people that I worked with,” she explained. “And then as soon as I did it (documentary), it literally felt like a massive weight had been lifted off my shoulders.”
“I think there’s such a stigma that comes with mental health, a lot people are ashamed to talk about how they really feel. A lot of people are scared to let people know that they are struggling and that’s how I felt for such a long time. What I actually learned by doing this documentary and letting everyone know was that it’s actually OK to talk about how you feel and you feel so much better…”
“For me, the biggest part of my journey was being open and talking about my struggles. That is the one thing that has helped me the most… It’s not just something that is building me up and giving me anxiety.”

  • Jesy Nelson Credits Lockdown for Giving Her Much-Needed Break From Little Mix

    WENN

Jesy says she enjoyed having her ‘own space and time’ from bandmates during the coronavirus lockdown following the group’s hectic schedule in the past few years.
    Aug 2, 2020
AceShowbiz – Jesy Nelson couldn’t help but appreciate having space from her Little Mix bandmates during the coronavirus lockdown.
The 29-year-old star, who released new single Holiday with Perrie Edwards, Leigh-Anne Pinnock, and Jade Thirlwall last week (ends26Jul20), admitted it was “horrible” being away from her Little Mix bandmates for so long, but told U.K. TV show “This Morning” there were some benefits.
“It’s horrible, we’re like family now, so to not be with them for this long has been horrible but I have seen them and it was amazing, because they’re like my sisters,” she shared.
“In the same aspect, it was quite nice to have our own space and time, because we never get time to just chill and just do nothing, so that was quite nice.”
Jesy, who split with beau Chris Hughes right before going into isolation, also spoke about filming the video for the new single without her bandmates, due to social distancing regulations.
“It was so weird. The minute I got to the studio everyone had to have their temperature checked, there were people in these bodysuits, these visors,” she recalled.
“Our make-up artists and our hair (stylists) had to have these suits on. It was the weirdest experience ever, but it was fun, but it’s amazing how they’ve done it. You would never know that we’ve been superimposed in the video, so it’s very cool.”

    BBC

‘The Search’, which is planned to air on BBC, will see Perrie Edwards, Jade Thirlwall, Jesy Nelson and Leigh-Anne Pinnock serving as judges, and comedian Chris Ramsey as host.
    Jul 21, 2020
AceShowbiz – Little Mix’s new TV talent competition series has been green-lighted to go ahead as planned under strict coronavirus guidelines.
“Little Mix: The Search” will air on the BBC this autumn and feature the former “The X Factor” winners as they create and mentor bands.
Bandmates Perrie Edwards, Jade Thirlwall, Jesy Nelson and Leigh-Anne Pinnock will serve as judges while comedian Chris Ramsey will host the program.
“The auditions were great fun to film,” Thirlwall said in a statement. “So much talent auditioned for the show that it was genuinely tough to decide who should go through. There are lots of twists and turns.”
The series will be filmed with strict coronavirus guidelines in place, as the competing groups live together while working with voice coaches, songwriters and producers. Rules include regular testing to make sure everyone is COVID-negative, regular hand-washing and sanitized communal areas.

  • Leigh-Anne Pinnock Told to 'Work Ten Times Harder' in Little Mix Because She's Black

    Instagram

The newly-engaged singer shares her experience with racism as she recalls her early days in Little Mix when she was warned she’s had to work harder because she’s not white.
    Jun 7, 2020
AceShowbiz – Leigh-Anne Pinnock was warned she’d have to “work ten times harder” because she’s Black on the set of Little Mix’s first-ever music video shoot.
The 28-year-old chart-topping star shared an emotional video on Instagram in which she described the inequality she has experienced despite her fame.
Recalling a time when the group first appeared on the music scene after winning “The X Factor U.K.” in 2011, the singer said she was told by a music video director that she would endure more struggles than the rest of the group. Something she came to realise was true.
“There comes a point in every black human’s life, no matter how much money you have or what you have achieved, you realise racism does not exclude you,” she shared. “Nine years ago, after joining Little Mix, I had the biggest awakening of my life. When we were filming Wings, we worked with Frank Gatson. He said to me, ‘You are the black girl, you have to work ten times harder.’ ”
“Later on, what Frank Gatson said made sense. I learned that being in the biggest girl band in the world came with its flaws and consequences.”
The tearful star continued, “My reality was feeling lonely while touring predominantly white countries. I sing to fans who don’t see me or hear me or cheer me on.”
Leigh-Anne also shared that she “constantly” feels like the “least favoured” at fan signings and that her “talent alone isn’t enough.”
“My reality is all the times I felt invisible within my group. Part of me is fully aware that my experience would have been ever harder to cope with had I been dark-skinned,” the “Black Magic” star concluded. “Our reality is no matter how far you think you’ve come, racism exists. So let’s all continue to speak up on racism and keep this movement going. Thank you.”

Little Mix Hosting Their Own Show in 'Break Up Song' Music Video

Perrie Edwards, Jesy Nelson, Leigh-Anne Pinnock, and Jade Thirlwall are hosting a show called ‘Good Morning Break Up’ in a music video for their latest single.
    May 9, 2020
AceShowbiz – Little Mix have premiered the official video for their new single, “Break Up Song”.
The group released the track in March 2020 but, due to nationwide lockdown measures across the U.K., the stars were left “gutted” after they were unable to record a high-budget video for the tune.
Taking matters into their own hands, singers Perrie Edwards, Jesy Nelson, Leigh-Anne Pinnock, and Jade Thirlwall, came up with a creative, 1980s inspired alternative.
In the clip, each girl has their own felt alter-ego and role in a fictional Little Mix TV show, titled “Good Morning Break Up”. It kicks off with Leigh-Anne running a phone-in for brokenhearted viewers before Jesy takes centre stage to do the weather report.
Later, Perrie’s alter-ego leads an aerobic dance routine in the second verse while Jade has her moment in the spotlight, turning into a fortune teller looking into a crystal ball.
During the chorus, the girls come into shot, each dancing around and singing in front of identical pink, shimmering backdrops with a high energy routine, proving they wouldn’t let the unfavourable situation get them down.

The new video comes after Little Mix cancelled their summer U.K. tour due to the Covid-19 crisis. Their TV talent show, “Little Mix: The Search”, has also been delayed due to the pandemic.
