Guy Sebastian: 'The Voice Australia' Judges Are Unable to Resolve Massive Arguments Due to COVID-19

    Nine Network

Addressing the incident that resulted in one of the show’s famous mentors storming off set, the ‘Battle Scars’ singer hints that it was instigated by either Kelly Rowland or Delta Goodrem.
    May 25, 2020
AceShowbiz – “The Voice” Australia coaches are at loggerheads after one of the show’s famous mentors stormed off set, according to Guy Sebastian.
The singer-songwriter sits on the panel of the popular TV talent contest, alongside Boy George, Kelly Rowland, and Delta Goodrem, and he told Australia’s Sydney Morning Herald “there’s unresolved feelings” following the “massive argument”.
While the former Australian Idol star mentioned the incident was instigated by one of the “girls”, he did not specify whether it was Delta or Kelly.
Guy said the judges haven’t been able to see each other face-to-face since the dispute, so the issue has yet to be resolved.
“I’m not one of those people who can go, ‘Oh, what happens on the set stays on the set’, I don’t believe that,” he told the publication. “Whenever there’s an argument, or it gets personal and nasty, I withdraw and I struggle to get over it.”
The Voice filmed the blind audition stage of the show before the COVID-19 crisis was declared a pandemic in March.
Earlier this month, it was reported Kelly and Boy George may be replaced by stand-in coaches, or they could mentor their acts virtually while remaining in America and England, respectively.

John Legend Gets Emotional After Helping 'The Voice' Contestant Clear Prince's Song

    NBC

The ‘Voice’ judge and the contestant under his wing Cammwess are overwhelmed with emotions after the former managed to clear ‘Purple Rain’ for the latter’s performance.
    May 20, 2020
AceShowbiz – “The Voice” contestant CammWess was left in tears on Monday night’s show, May 18, 2020 after his coach John Legend managed to clear Prince classic “Purple Rain” for him to perform on the programme.
While countless hit songs have been taken on by hopefuls on the U.S. TV talent show over the years, “Purple Rain” has never been one of them. But after John got involved, he managed to secure the tune for his act to belt out on Monday’s episode – a feat that was entirely appreciated by CammWess.
“Purple Rain has never been cleared for a performance on The Voice,” John explained as he introduced the performance. “I got an e-mail from one of the managers (asking), ‘John, will you vouch for this guy CammWess?’ I was like, ‘I will absolutely vouch for CammWess.’ ”
“It’s poetic, it’s really crazy,” CammWess replied. “I’m not gonna lie, I cried about it.”
And even his mentor John got a little choked up.
“I’m getting emotional thinking about it with you. I just want you to show out, make it like you singing at the Super Bowl in the rain,” he said referencing the late singer’s iconic 2007 Super Bowl performance. “That’s how you win The Voice.”
“The Voice” finale airs on Tuesday night, May 19, 2020 in the U.S.

    WENN

Because of the travel restrictions caused by the coronavirus pandemic, the former Destiny’s Child member and the ‘Everything I Own’ singer will be moved into the role of mentors.
    May 5, 2020
AceShowbiz – Kelly Rowland and Boy George will reportedly be temporarily replaced on “The Voice Australia” during the COVID-19 crisis.
The new season of the popular TV singing contest is set to premiere on 24 May and, according to NW magazine, the program’s two international coaches will be temporarily replaced by local stars due to travel restrictions.
The pair, who have appeared on the show since 2017, will apparently be replaced as judges temporarily by Jessica Mauboy and Conrad Sewell – although the former Destiny’s Child star and Culture Club frontman have apparently been remotely checking in on contestants from their respective homes.

“(They) will move into a mentor role from the U.S. and U.K. on Zoom,” a source explained, suggesting they’ll use the video conference app to engage with participants.

Singers Delta Goodrem and Guy Sebastian will both return as coaches, while the show will welcome two new hosts – Darren McMullen and Renee Bargh – who will take over from Sonia Kruger as she prepares to front the forthcoming revamped season of “Big Brother” on the local Channel Seven.

AceShowbiz – Music veteran James Taylor is stepping into the world of reality TV by joining America’s “The Voice” as a Mega Mentor.
The “You’ve Got a Friend” hitmaker will share his expertise with the four remaining contenders on the current 18th season of the talent competition, starting with the pre-taped episode set to air on 13 April.
The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame star’s appearance on “The Voice” was revealed at the end of a new promo, in which coaches Kelly Clarkson, John Legend, Nick Jonas, and Blake Shelton pass on the identity of the Mega Mentor by whispering it to one another.
Country singer Shelton is featured at the end of the line, and confusingly asks, “Elizabeth Taylor?”, before being corrected by Legend.

The 72 year old follows in the footsteps of another Taylor – Taylor Swift – who served as season 17’s Mega Mentor.
