Report: 'Thor: Love and Thunder' Finds Valkyrie's Love Interest in 'Game of Thrones' Alum

    Marvel Studios/WENN/Adriana M. Barraza

Words are Lena Headey is added to the cast for the upcoming Marvel movie to romance Tessa Thompson’s character, who will be hailed as the king of New Asgard.

    Mar 19, 2021

    AceShowbiz –
Valkyrie could be finding her significant other in “Thor: Love and Thunder”. Rumor has it that the movie is adding Lena Headey to play Tessa Thompson’s onscreen love interest in the Taika Waititi-directed movie.

It should be noted though that the tidbit came from 4chan and has been reposted on the r/MarvelStudiosSpoilers subreddit, which means that this casting news should be taken with a grain of salt. The report also didn’t divulge Headey’s alleged character, but should the report be true, she’ll possibly portray the queen to Valkyrie, who will be hailed as the king of New Asgard in the upcoming movie.

It was previously confirmed that Valkyrie is bisexual and that this would be addressed in the fourth “Thor” movie. This way, she would be Marvel Studios’ first LGBTQ superhero. “She’s bi,” Thompson tweeted in October 2017 in response to a fan who asked about the character’s sexuality. She continued, “And yes, she cares very little about what men think of her,” gushing, “What a joy to play!” Waititi then liked her tweet.

As for Headey, she’s no stranger to playing queen, having portrayed Cersei Lannister, the ruthless Queen of the Seven Kingdoms of Westeros, on HBO’s hit series “Game of Thrones”. She nabbed multiple awards and nominations for the role, including five Emmy nominations for Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Drama Series. The 47-year-old actress also starred on “Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles” series, which ran from 2008 until 2009, and in 2014’s movie “300: Rise of an Empire”.

“Thor: Love and Thunder” is currently in production in Australia. Besides Thompson, the movie brings back Chris Hemsworth as the titular God of Thunder and Natalie Portman as Jane Foster, who will become the Mighty Thor and gain similar powers to Thor.

The movie is scheduled for a May 6, 2022 release in the United States.

'Thor: Love and Thunder' Fans Rave Over Natalie Portman's Ripped Physique in New Set Pics

    Marvel Studios

The Jane Foster depicter looks jacked as she shows off her muscly arms underneath her burgundy T-shirt while filming the upcoming fourth Thor movie in Australia.

    Mar 8, 2021
AceShowbiz – Natalie Portman has shown her muscly transformation for “Thor: Love and Thunder” and fans couldn’t help gushing over it. The Academy Award-winning actress had been training and hitting the gym for months to reprise her role as Jane Foster, and it all paid off.
The “Black Swan” actress was recently spotted on the set of the upcoming Marvel movie as she continued filming for it in Australia. In some new set photos which have circulated online, the 39-year-old looked jacked as her muscly arms were on display underneath her short-sleeve burgundy T-shirt.
Impressed by Portman’s ripped physique, a fan gushed on Twitter, “Dang Natalie Portman been hitting the weights big time!” Another quipped, “i would like to formally request for natalie portman to snap me in half.”
Another had a similar reaction, tweeting, “Finally my long held dream of Natalie Portman lifting me over her head and snapping my back in half like Bane vs Batman seems like a possibility.” A fourth one exclaimed, “That ain’t Natalie Portman, that’s Natalie THORtman! HOLY HELL, SHE’S RIPPED!” Someone else praised Portman’s resemblance to Mighty Thor in the comics, “Natalie Portman really just said Mighty Thor comic accuracy.”

In related news, a new set video may have hinted at how Jane becomes the Mighty Thor. During the filming set on what looks like a memorial of Odin with the backdrop of the ocean, Jane was spotted looking at the broken pieces of Mjolnir. Thor’s weapon was destroyed into shards by Hela (Cate Blanchett) in “Thor: Ragnarok”.
Later, Portman’s stunt double was suspended in the air as she filmed a scene where Jane is jolted as if she gets electrocuted. It appears that Jane’s visit to Odin’s memorial triggers some kind of reaction from the Mjolnir shards that gives her both the mythical hammer and the abilities of the Mighty Thor.
Besides Portman, the fourth installment of the “Thor” film series will see Chris Hemsworth returning as Thor and Tessa Thompson back as Valkyrie. Christian Bale is cast as the villain, Gorr the God Butcher, while Chris Pratt, Pom Klementieff, Dave Bautista, Karen Gillan and Sean Gunn are reprising their “Guardians of the Galaxy” roles.
Taika Waititi serves as the director for the movie, which is slated for a May 6, 2022 release in the United States.

Matt Damon and Luke Hemsworth Spotted on 'Thor: Love and Thunder' Set for First Time

    Marvel Studios

The roles of Damon and the older Hemsworth brother are likely uncovered as both of them have been pictured joining the production of the Marvel movie in Sydney, Australia.

    Mar 2, 2021
AceShowbiz – The first pictures of Matt Damon and Luke Hemsworth on the set of “Thor: Love and Thunder” have surfaced online, confirming reports that they will be making cameos in the upcoming Marvel movie. Both actors were spotted filming for the upcoming installment of the Thor film series in Sydney, Australia.
The photos obtained by paparazzi are also believed to have potentially given away Damon and Hemsworth’s roles. They previously portrayed Asgardian actors who played Loki (Tom Hiddleston) and Thor (Chris Hemsworth) in “Thor: Ragnarok” and it appears that they’re reprising the same roles.
In the grainy images, Damon and the old Hemsworth brother were seen wearing the same clothes that were sported by Loki and Thor in “Thor: Ragnarok” scene, during which their father Odin (Anthony Hopkins) died. It seems that they will be acting out the death of the Allfather.
Supporting the speculation about Damon and Hemsworth’s cameos, other set pictures showed the movie’s crew building what looks like an outdoor amphitheater, where Damon and Hemsworth’s characters could perform. Sam Neill, meanwhile, has been rumored to reprise his role as an actor playing Odin.

Damon first hinted at his return for “Thor: Love and Thunder” after he announced in January of this year that he’s taking his family Down Under. “I’m so excited that my family and I will be able to call Australia home for the next few months,” he said in a statement to local press, as quoted by CNET, at the time.
Confirming that he’s in Aussie for a movie project, he added in the statement, “Australian film crews are world-renowned for their professionalism and are a joy to work with so the 14 days of quarantine will be well worth it.”
Other actors, including Natalie Portman, Chris Pratt, Dave Bautista and Tessa Thompson, had all been quarantining before they joined the cast and crew on the set. The Hemsworth brothers, meanwhile, have been living in Australia with their families.
“Thor: Ragnarok” is directed by Taiki Waititi and is slated for a May 6, 2022 release in the United States.

First 'Thor: Love and Thunder' Set Photos Show Chris Hemsworth and Chris Pratt in Full Costume

    Marvel Studios

The ‘Guardians of the Galaxy’ star joins the Australian hunk during the filming of the fourth ‘Thor’ movie on Centennial Park in Sydney under the direction of Taika Waititi.

    Feb 2, 2021
AceShowbiz – Photos from the set of “Thor: Love and Thunder” have landed online, giving first look at Chris Hemsworth and Chris Pratt in full costume. Both actors were spotted filming on Centennial Park in Sydney on Monday, February 1.
The God of Thunder depicter flexed his biceps in Thor’s new costume as he rocked a red sleeveless vest with black accent on the collar, paired with blue pants. He also had Thor’s long hair back, with what looked like a small braid on one side.
The Aussie hunk held Thor’s trusted Mjolnir, while Pratt joined his fellow “Avengers” actor on the set and seemed to admire the weapon as well. Star-Lord himself appeared to sport a familiar outfit, with some new trimmings.

Chris Hemsworth and Chris Pratt were spotted on ‘Thor: Love and Thunder’ set in Sydney.
Earlier that day, Thor embraced his more human side as Hemsworth was seen ditching his vest and only donning a white sleeveless top, paired with jeans. Pratt also took off Star-Lord’s robe, unveiling a long-sleeve shirt underneath.

They stood near a pile of ruins, which was dumped in the middle of the park, surrounded by brown set pieces that resemble rocks or ant colonies. Hemsworth’s stunt double was seen getting ready nearby. Also spotted on the set that day were Sean Gunn, who was dressed in a purple outfit as Kraglin, and Karen Gillan, who was fully dressed as Nebula.
Hemsworth and Taika Waititi, who is directing the film, previously kicked off the production of “Thor: Love and Thunder” by taking part in a traditional ceremony. On January 25, the 37-year-old actor shared pictures taken from an indigenous land acknowledgment ceremony called Welcome to Country ceremony.
He posted on Instagram photos of him and the filmmaker posing with native Australian dancers. The God of Thunder depicter dressed casually in a white sleeveless top and black shorts, while Waititi opted for a formal look in a navy suit.
While Hemsworth and his family have been staying in their native Australia during the COVID-19 pandemic, other actors, including Tessa Thompson and Dave Bautista, had been isolating themselves after arriving in the country before the start of the shooting. Matt Damon recently brought his family Down Under, sparking a speculation that he’s joining the movie in an undisclosed role.
The upcoming fourth installment of the Thor film franchise will also bring back Natalie Portman as Jane Foster, who will be taking up the mantle as Thor, and feature Christian Bale as the villain, Gorr the God Butcher.
It is set for a May 6, 2022 release in the United States.
