Piers Morgan makes cheeky dig at Good Morning Britain a year after storming off show

Piers Morgan has made a cheeky dig towards his old Good Morning Britain role, saying that he has no regrets in storming off set.

This comes a year on from his famous TV exit from the GMB studios after his row with Alex Beresford regarding his attitude towards Meghan Markle.

The TV star shared a snap of him walking out of the studios on Instagram on Wednesday (March 9) and wrote alongside it: “A year ago today, I went for a little stroll… and in the words of Edith Piaf, je ne regrette rien! #LongWalkToFreedomOfSpeech.”

The French saying roughly translates “no, I do not regret anything,” meaning Piers was happy to throw in a cheeky dig at his old job to fans online.

Piers’ son Spencer Morgan commented: “The moment morning TV died.”

While one fan said: “Although I still watch the show, it really isn’t the same…”

Another wrote: “Leadership at its best! Standing up for what is right !!! Amen.”

While a third penned: “Not the same without you though.”

And a fourth quipped: “Still wishing you would stroll right back.”

“And quite rightly so Piers… We all supported you,” typed another user.

This comes after Piers recently shared an emotional tribute to the late cricket legend Shane Warne.

The TV star took to Twitter to share some heartfelt words about his dear friend.

Shane’s management announced on Friday (March 4) that he had passed away aged 52 from what was a suspected heart attack.

Piers shared: “Absolutely devastated to hear that ⁦@ShaneWarne⁩ has died from a heart attack aged just 52. He was a genius cricketer, a supreme entertainer, a fantastic bloke and a great loyal friend for many years. Just gutting news. RIP Warnie, I loved every minute in your company.”
