Megan Thee Stallion Is 'In Talks' to Perform 'Savage' With Beyonce at Grammys

    Instagram

At the 2021 Grammy Awards, the ‘Good News’ artist is up for several prestigious categories including Record of the Year, Best Rap Performance and Best Rap Song for the hit track.

    Dec 15, 2020
AceShowbiz – Megan Thee Stallion seemingly is preparing a huge performance at the 2021 Grammys. According to a new report from Los Angeles Times, the “Hot Girl Summer” raptress is currently in negotiations to grace the stage for a joint performance of “Savage (Remix)” with Beyonce Knowles.
In an interview with the publication, Megan revealed that she has yet to choose her “arm candy” as her date for the award-giving event. However, the female emcee hinted that she’s “in talks” to have the singing diva joining her on stage for their chart-topping collaborative track.

Megan is up for several prestigious categories in the forthcoming event. The Houston rapstress has nabbed four nominations, including Best New Artist. She also earned nominations in Record of the Year, Best Rap Performance and Best Rap Song for “Savage (Remix)” featuring the “Lemonade” hitmaker.
While the 2021 Grammy will be surely a festivity for Megan, it sparks controversy with some other musicians. Among those who criticized the Recording Academy was The Weeknd, who was snubbed this year despite the success of his album “After Hours”. “The Grammys remain corrupt,” the three-time Grammy winner wrote on Twitter on November 24, hours after the nominations for the 2021 ceremony were announced. “You owe me, my fans and the industry transparency…”
In response to the criticism, Harvey Mason Jr., the Recording Academy’s interim president and CEO, said in a statement, “We understand that The Weeknd is disappointed at not being nominated. I was surprised and can empathize with what he’s feeling. His music this year was excellent, and his contributions to the music community and broader world are worthy of everyone’s admiration. Unfortunately, every year, there are fewer nominations than the number of deserving artists.”

Megan Thee Stallion Gives Middle Finger After Ex-BFF Kelsey Nicole Debuts Diss Track

    Instagram

Kelsey claims that she has been threatened with the release of a sex tape if she tells the truth and accuses Megan of betraying her by hooking up with her man behind her back.

    Nov 26, 2020
AceShowbiz – It seems that there’s no way no turn back their friendship now after Megan Thee Stallion and Kelsey Nicole publicly traded jabs at each other. After the former took aim at her former BFF and Tory Lanez in “Shots Fired”, the latter has now told her side of the story in her own diss track, “Bussin Back”.
Released on Wednesday, November 25, the song finds Kelsey rapping, “Who I’m taking shots at?/ B***h I’m busting you.” She alludes to the shooting incident in her lyrics, “Couldn’t control your little feelings/ Look what d**k is costing you/ It was all good yeah about a week ago/ Shout out Bobby Shmurda but this b***h is really tweaking tho/ If I was the one with the gun you woulda heard about a murder/ Said her back was turned but the girl know who really hurt her.”
In the song, Kelsey also claims that Megan or her team threatened to leak her sex tape if she ever tells the truth about the July shooting incident. She insinuates that Meg lied to her label about the shooting, rapping, “Are you lying to your label/ Do they really know what happened/ (Who shot ya)/ ‘Cause you know it wasn’t me.”

Prior to debuting the track, Kelsey seemingly warned the “Savage” raptress about her impending retaliation as posting on Instagram about the song, “Y’all talked y’all s**t, let my ‘SHRIMP’ a** talk my s**t too.” She added, “I was built for this no weapon formed against me shall prosper #BUSSINBACK out now.”

Kelsey also went on Instagram Live prior to releasing the diss track, during which she accused Megan of betraying her by hooking up with someone Kelsey was seeing first, seemingly confirming that Tory slept with both girls. “Your a** was f**king on a n***a that I had first,” she said in the expletive-filled rant.

Megan has seemingly responded to Kelsey’s diss track and latest claims as she took to Twitter to post several face with tears of joy emojis. She also shared a video of her and her gal pals flashing their middle fingers to the camera, writing along with it, “GN from thee besties.”

Previously in her song “Shots Fired”, Megan describes her former friend a “goofy-a** b***h” who’s jealous of her success. “Watchin’ me succeed from your knees, suckin’ d**k,” the Grammy-nominated artist raps on the track. “I know you want attention from the n***as that I get/ I’m a steak, you a side plate, shrimp, stay in your place.”
Megan’s “Shots Fired” samples Notorious B.I.G.’s “Who Shot Ya?” while Kelsey’s diss samples Tupac Shakur’s “Hit ‘Em Up”.

Megan Thee Stallion Fires Back at Tory Lanez in New Diss Track 'Shots Fired'

    Instagram

The ‘Savage’ hitmaker slams the Canadian star while taking a dig at his height and responding to the critics who called her a snitch following the shooting drama.

    Nov 21, 2020
AceShowbiz – Megan Thee Stallion has taken aim at her alleged shooter Tory Lanez in a new diss track titled “Shots Fired”.
The “WAP” star accused Lanez of shooting her following a dispute as they left a party in the Hollywood Hills over the summer (20), following which a restraining order was filed to prevent Lanez from going near Megan.
Now, just days after claiming Lanez had tried to buy her silence following the shooting, Megan has once again slammed the rapper in a brand new track from her debut album.
While she doesn’t refer to Lanez by name in the song, Megan does make several references to his 5’3″ height, and also takes on his defence that he couldn’t have shot the “Hot Girl Summer” star without damaging any of her bones or tendons.
“You shot a 5’10” b**ch with a .22,” she raps. “Talkin’ ’bout bones and tendons like them bullets weren’t pellets.”

Later, she continues, “Who a snitch? I ain’t never went to the police with no names.”

Megan told GQ Magazine that she was so scared following the shooting, which occurred at the height of the controversy surrounding police brutality towards people of colour, that she said she had cut her foot rather than revealing that Lanez was carrying a weapon.
She had to undergo surgery on her feet after the shooting while Lanez has pleaded not guilty to one count of assault with a semiautomatic firearm, and one count of carrying a loaded, unregistered firearm in a vehicle.
Lanez’s next court hearing is set to take place on 20 January.

  • Megan Thee Stallion's Artist of the Year Win at BET Hip Hop Awards Sparks Complaints

    Instagram

Most people believe that Lil Baby deserves the award more than the Texas native, with some even claiming that BET gave the trophy to Megan out of sympathy.

    Oct 29, 2020
AceShowbiz – Megan Thee Stallion came out as the biggest winner at the 2020 BET Hip-Hop Awards during its ceremony last night, taking home the biggest honor Artist of the Year. However, people on social media believed that the trophy should go to someone else instead of the Texas native, and some were not being nice at all by saying that she won out of sympathy.
Most of them pointed out that Lil Baby deserves the award more since according to them, he made more achievements than Megan. “14 songs went gold this year without him being featured, 10 songs went platinum without him being featured, 2 albums went platinum (one went twice), 2 albums went gold,” one person listed Baby’s accomplishment, adding, “megan: 2 songs went platinum without her being featured. 1 song went gold without her being featured.”

Meanwhile, some others were convinced that BET gave the honor to Megan out of sympathy after the whole shooting scandal involving her and Tory Lanez. “You mean to tell me Megan had a better year then Lil Baby, You mean to tell me ‘SugAh’ was a better album then My Turn, … you telling me this has nothing to do with her getting shot,” someone said. “Just cause Megan got shot in the foot doesn’t mean she beat Lil Baby for artist of the year,” one other similarly wrote, as another agreed, “I don’t listen to either of them but she clearly got it because she got shot. Let’s be honest.”
Besides the Artist of the Year award, Megan was also presented with Hustler of the Year and Best Collaboration for her hit “Savage” remix featuring Beyonce Knowles. Meanwhile, the singing diva nabbed Sweet 16: Best Featured Verse for her part on the song.

  • Kentucky AG Daniel Cameron Dubs Megan Thee Stallion's Attack on 'SNL' Disgusting

    Instagram

Daniel clearly doesn’t appreciate the female emcee’s verbal assault during her debut performance on the long-running show because he’s ‘simply trying to do my job.’
    Oct 7, 2020
AceShowbiz – Daniel Cameron has broken his silence after Megan Thee Stallion called him out during her first “Saturday Night Live” performance last week. During his appearance on “Fox & Friends” on Tuesday, October 6, the Kentucky Attorney General deemed the rapper’s verbal assault on the long-running show “disgusting.”
In the episode, Daniel stressed that he supported Megan’s call for black women protection, but he didn’t appreciate getting called out like that. “Let me just say I agree that we need to love and protect our Black women. There’s no question about that,” he said. “But the fact that someone would get on national television and make disparaging comments about me because I’m simply trying to do my job is disgusting.”
“But it’s not the first [time] we see this, and it certainly won’t be the last time we see this. At the end of the day, my responsibility is to provide facts and truth and represent and stand up for justice,” he continued, before making a mention of Breonna Taylor’s case. “I think what you saw there in that display, [is] someone who instead wants to fashion facts to a narrative. That narrative is simply not true in this particular case with Ms. Taylor. Again, it is a tragedy what happened to her.”

      See also…

Daniel then assumed that Megan only attacked him because he is a part of the Republican party even though he is a black man. “I stand for truth and justice as opposed to giving in to a mob mentality,” he said. “And those are the sorts of things that will be hurled at me in this job.”
During her debut performance on “SNL”, Megan took the time to call out the politician over his handling of the investigation into Breonna Taylor’s death. “Daniel Cameron is no different than the sellout Negroes that sold our people into slavery,” the message directed at the black Republican state leader read.
Megan continued, “We need to protect our black women and love our black women. (Be)cause at the end of the day, we need our black women. We need to protect our black men and stand up for our black men. ‘Cause at the end of the day we’re tired of seeing hashtags of our black men.”
