Iron Maiden's Bruce Dickinson Turning His Siege of Sarajevo Concert Into Movie

    WENN

The rocker is teaming up with ‘My Dinner With Herve’ filmmaker Sacha Gervasi to write a screenplay about his concert during the historic Siege of Sarajevo in 1994.

    May 2, 2021

    AceShowbiz –
Iron Maiden frontman Bruce Dickinson is teaming up with “My Dinner With Herve” filmmaker Sacha Gervasi to co-write a screenplay about the rock concert he headlined during the Siege of Sarajevo in 1994.

The rocker and his band, Skunkworks, were smuggled into the city by United Nations officials to play a concert as the Bosnian war raged around them.

The gig was captured for the documentary “Scream for Me Sarajevo”, which also covered the siege – the longest in modern history, lasting over 1,420 days and resulting in the deaths of over 11,000 people.

Dickinson was later awarded the title of Honorary Citizen of Sarajevo for his bravery.

Announcing the new film this week (ends30Apr21), Bruce said, “The few incredible days I spent in Sarajevo with my solo band pre-Christmas in 1994 were some of the most intense of my life.”

“Crafting a story to bring the emotions, madness, tragedy and triumph to the screen is no easy task. My own journey was as a long haired heavy metal singer driving through firefights into a city that had been under siege longer than Stalingrad. Mine was not, of course, the only journey taken on that day, and afterwards, at home in London, I left behind in Sarajevo travelling companions on the road of life. This movie is actually dedicated to their story, not mine.”

Gervasi added, “The real story of the kids and local musicians who attended that show is as poignant as it is inspiring. Many of them didn’t make it. As Bruce has already said, we hope this film will be a tribute to them.”

Jodie Turner-Smith 'Gave It All' During 'Without Remorse' Filming Despite Being Pregnant

    Amazon Studios

The ‘Queen and Slim’ actress talks about the challenges of filming her new action movie, claiming her pregnancy added ‘a layer of complexity’ to her role.

    May 2, 2021

    AceShowbiz –
Jodie Turner-Smith’s pregnancy added “a layer of complexity” to her starring role in action film “Without Remorse”.

The 34-year-old actress stars as Lt. Commander Karen Greer in the movie based on Tom Clancy’s novel and opened up about the challenges of filming while she was expecting her baby daughter.

Jodie, who welcomed 12-month-old Janie to the world with husband, actor Joshua Jackson in April 2020, said, “(Training) wasn’t straightforward because I was pregnant, so that definitely added a layer of complexity to it. But I went after it. I gave it all of myself.”

The “Queen & Slim” star continued, “We worked really closely with these guys on set who were there to teach us how to operate in combat, how to move with and around each other, how to talk to each other.”

“We’re emulating guys who have been working together, alongside each other for years, so there needed to be a sense of familiarity and comfort and ease to how they work together.”

Jodie also revealed how her pregnancy made it more difficult to shoot underwater stunts.

She told Variety, “I don’t know if you know this, but when you are pregnant, it’s very hard to hold your breath. So, I had unique challenges that my co-stars didn’t have.”

Turner-Smith also loved having the opportunity to play a trailblazing character in the form of a female Navy SEAL.

She explained, “I love that filmmakers wanted to create this character, to envision this woman. There’s not a female Navy SEAL right now, but there will be soon. I feel that is what we’re moving towards.”

“It felt very cool to embody this a little bit ahead of the curve. And to hopefully honour and bring a good representation to women around the world who are serving in the armed forces right now.”

Tom Cruise Allegedly Flew Into Rage on Set of 'Mission: Impossible 7' Over Noisy Trees

    WENN

The Ethan Hunt depicter was reportedly so frustrated by the branches knocking on the roof of his trailer on the set of his new movie that he got the trees chopped off.

    May 1, 2021

    AceShowbiz –
Tom Cruise reportedly flew into a rage on the set of “Mission: Impossible 7” after becoming irritated by noisy branches on the roof of his trailer.

According to editors at British newspaper The Sun, the 58-year-old actor couldn’t stand the noisy trees while relaxing in between takes for the new instalment of the spy franchise and called on local workers to come and cut them down.

Insiders shared, “There isn’t much Tom can’t put up with. So imagine how baffled everyone was when there was such a fuss made over a tree.”

“The branches hanging over were knocking on the roof of the trailer which Tom and some of the other cast had been using.”

      See also…

“Apparently the noise was becoming beyond irritating and they couldn’t stand it any longer. Two local lads were called out to sort out the problem and cut down the offending branches.”

The source also claimed the set has been busy with fans hoping to catch a glimpse of Tom and his co-star and rumoured girlfriend Hayley Atwell.

Two paramedics, who stopped to get pictures, were reportedly hauled away by security and ordered to delete the images they had taken.

The latest incident comes following reports last year (20) that five crew members on the “Mission: Impossible” set had quit after Tom launched into two rants.

The actor was said to have sounded off on staff after he caught them breaking U.K. coronavirus rules at Warner Bros. Studios in Leavesden, Hertfordshire.

Noah Centineo Offers No Reason for Withdrawal From He-Man Role in 'Masters of the Universe'

    Instagram

A representative for the ‘To All the Boys I’ve Loved Before’ star confirms the actor is no longer attached to the project that has been set up at Sony Pictures and Mattel Films for years.

    Apr 30, 2021

    AceShowbiz –
Noah Centineo has bowed out of a project that will see him heading to the realm of Eternia. More than two years after it was reported that he was in talks to portray fictional superhero He-Man in “Masters of the Universe” movie, he has now exited the film.

A representative for the actor has confirmed his withdrawal from the movie, which has been in development at Sony Pictures and Mattel Films for years. “He is no longer attached to that project,” the rep said on Thursday, April 29, without offering any explanation regarding his exit.

Back in March 2019, there were mixed responses to Centineo’s casting as Prince Adam a.k.a. He-Man, the most powerful man in the universe, who must fight the evil Skeletor to save the planet Eternia and protect the secrets of Castle Grayskull. While some thought that the 24-year-old hunk was not big enough to portray He-Man, some others were just excited that the character would be brought back to the big screen.

The character was first launched as a toy line and comics in 1982 and later spanned an animated series debuted in 1983. The character made its debut in the big screen with a 1987 live-action movie starring Dolph Lundgren as He-Man. The movie, however, was a commercial failure and was panned by critics.

Centineo’s withdrawal is obviously forcing filmmakers back to square one. Aaron and Adam Nee (“Band of Robbers”) are slated to write and direct the upcoming “Masters of the Universe” movie, which has seen numerous writers tackle the script over the years. numerous writers tackle the script over the years. David S. Goyer, who is also on board as executive producer, wrote an early draft, as did Christopher Yost and Iron Man scribes Matt Holloway and Art Marcum.

Despite walking away from the Mattel film, Centineo will still be seen playing a superhero in one of his next movies as he has been tapped to portray Albert Rothstein a.k.a. Atom Smasher in DC movie “Black Adam”. The film, which is starring Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson as the titular character, is currently in production.

Angelina Jolie Finds Her Comeback as 'Broken Person' in New Film After Brad Pitt Split 'Very Healing

    WENN

The ‘Maleficent’ actress explains she was drawn to her character in new thriller ‘Those Who Wish Me Dead’ because the woman is broken but manages to overcome it.

    Apr 30, 2021

    AceShowbiz –
Angelina Jolie found it “healing” to star as a “very broken person” forced to get back on her feet in her new thriller “Those Who Wish Me Dead”.

The single mother-of-six makes her return to action movies for the first time in over a decade with the Taylor Sheridan movie, but it wasn’t the physical side of playing firefighter Hannah Faber, who suffers from post-traumatic stress disorder following an on-the-job tragedy she holds herself responsible for, that drew her to the project.

Angelina, who separated from ex-husband Brad Pitt in 2016, told U.S. news show Entertainment Tonight, “I am drawn to people who have been through something and are broken and then find their way forward and overcome it.”

      See also…

“As an artist, it’s very healing to play people like that. She’s been very healing for me, because you just get so broken and then you stand back up. (Hannah is) a very broken person who carries a great deal of guilt.”

The film follows Hannah as she tries to protect a 12-year-old boy, played by Finn Little, from a fire and the hitmen who are in hot pursuit after unwittingly witnessing a murder.

And Angelina insists the story is more than just a “thriller”. “On its surface, it feels like a great thriller, a great adventure across an unusual terrain inside a great fire,” she said.

“Underneath it, it’s a really emotional film. It’s about people who have a great impact on each other and change each other. Emotionally and practically, they go through the fire.”

Lupita Nyong'o in 'Pensive State' When It Comes to 'Black Panther 2' Without Chadwick Boseman

    Walt Disney Pictures

The ’12 Years a Slave’ actress says the sudden passing of her co-star is ‘still extremely raw’ for her and she can’t imagine returning to the movie set without him.

    Apr 30, 2021

    AceShowbiz –
Lupita Nyong’o is in a “pensive state” with regards to the “Black Panther” sequel.

The actress will play the role of Nakia in the upcoming Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) film but “can’t imagine” returning to set without Chadwick Boseman, who played the lead role in the original but passed away last year aged 43 after a private cancer battle.

Lupita said, “People will ask me, ‘Are you excited to go back?’ Excitement isn’t the word. I feel like I’m in a very pensive state when it comes to Black Panther 2. His passing is still extremely raw for me.”

      See also…

“And I can’t even begin to imagine what it will be like to step on set and not have him there.”

The “Us” star did praise the influence of director Ryan Coogler and believes that the sequel will “honour” Chadwick’s legacy.

Lupita told Yahoo Entertainment, “But at the same time we have a leader in Ryan, who feels very much like we do, who feels the loss in a very, very real way as well. And his idea, the way which he has reshaped the second movie is so respectful of the loss we’ve all experienced as a cast and as a world. So it feels spiritually and emotionally correct to do this.”

“And hopefully, what I do look forward to, is getting back together and honouring what he started with us and holding his light through it. Because he left us a lot of light that we’re still going to be bathing in. I know that for sure.”
