“We grew up listening to a wide variety of music. We all grew up in different areas, but I would say some of the amazing people we collaborated with we all grew up listening to and we are big fans of them,” Rose said, before Jennie added, “(Cardi B) is our first rap feature. We are so excited to share this music with you guys.”
“The Album”, which also features the track “Ice Cream” – their collaboration with Selena – is out now.

  • Chris Rock Calls Cardi B 'Comedy Star' as He Recalls Trying Hard to Get Femcee Her Own Show

    WENN

The ‘Grown Ups’ actor loves Cardi’s witty remarks when he was first introduced to her by his children through the internet before her ‘Bodak Yellow’ fame.
    Sep 27, 2020
AceShowbiz – Funnyman Chris Rock once tried to turn a then-unknown Cardi B into the comedy world’s next big star by suggesting she front her own show.
The “Grown Ups” actor reveals his children turned him on to rap sensation Cardi before she rose to fame on reality show”Love and Hip Hop: New York” after which she launched her music career with her breakout smash “Bodak Yellow” back in 2017.
However, when he first heard the hip-hop star crack jokes to fans online, he thought she had the talent to embark on a major comedy career – and even tried to shop the idea to TV bosses.
“Cardi B, I saw on some, like, YouTube thing or whatever. Again, my kids show me this Cardi B girl, and she didn’t have a record out or anything,” Rock explained on “The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon”. “And I was like, ‘OK, we should go show it (propose the idea for a show).’ I’m not even gonna say what network but… I went – me, Cardi B and her management, you know, to kind of like get a show going.”

TV chiefs passed on the project, and even though the “WAP” hitmaker made it clear she was more interested in finding success in the music industry, Rock was adamant she was destined for the comedy stage.
He recalls hearing about her music dreams and dismissively responding, “Yeah, yeah, yeah, that’s good. Anyway. You’re a comedy star.”
Even now, Rock believes Cardi, who is known for her witty remarks and quips online, has what it takes to joke around with the best of the best.

“I think Cardi B’s the funniest woman, or one of the funniest people,” he said. “You know, it’s like (Dave) Chappelle, Cardi. Like, in the standings right now, like who are the funniest people in the world? Cardi’s right up there. She’s neck and neck with Bill Burr. Like, she’s good, man… Cardi can hang with anybody.”

  • Cardi B Blows People's Mind With Selena Gomez's 'Rare' Cover: Why Is She Moaning?

    WENN

Gushing over the Rare Beauty package she receives from her ‘Taki Taki’ collaborator, the ‘Bodak Yellow’ hitmaker then starts singing the chorus part of Selena’s song.
    Sep 21, 2020
AceShowbiz – Ever since Cardi B and Selena Gomez collaborated on “Taki Taki”, the ladies often show love and support for each other. For instance, the “Bodak Yellow” hitmaker recently promoted the Disney alum’s beauty products through Instagram Stories, though it was her short cover of Selena’s “Rare” that caught people’s attention the most.
In several clips posted on the photo-sharing site over the weekend, Cardi showed off the package she received from Selena’s brand Rare Beauty. “I think they made this specifically for me ’cause all the foundations are like my color–the color that I practically use,” she said, before gushing over the liquid luminizer. “It’s really, really pretty.”
Later on, considering that Selena’s brand is named after her song of the same name, Cardi started singing “Rare” while trying to copy the “Same Old Love” hitmaker’s singing style. “Why don’t you recognize I’m so rare?” so she rhymed.

Many found her cover funny since she sounded like she was moaning rather than singing. An individual said, “The way she sings like she’s f***ing,” while another person wrote, “I love the support n all but… THE SINGING KILLED ME.” Someone else commented, “The way she sang Rare… She sounds like she’s moaning cuz she’s touching herself or something OMG.”
One more person seemed to regret having the voice on while watching the video, “I PLAYED OUTLOUD AND IT SOUNDED LIKE PORN OMGGGGGG.” Meanwhile, one other said, “Cardi doing Selena’s moaning in Rare while revealing the RB package she got. seriously YELLED sksksksks.” There was also someone who commented, “Not Cardi B moaning the chorus of ‘Rare’ by Selena Gomez…”
Some others, in the meantime, wished that Cardi and Selena collaborate again. The two have yet to release another joint song ever since “Taki Taki”, which debuted atop Billboard’s Hot Latin Song and at No. 27 on Hot 100 last year.

The ‘Bodak Yellow’ star continues to defend her provocative song, insisting it’s an adult song not meant for young children like her two-year-old daughter Kulture.
    Aug 26, 2020
AceShowbiz – Cardi B has hit back at haters blasting her explicit new single “WAP”, insisting the tune is meant for “adults.”
The song – a collaboration between Cardi and Megan Thee Stallion – features lyrics such as, “Make it cream, make me scream / Out in public, make a scene / I don’t cook, I don’t clean / But let me tell you how I got this ring.”
Despite topping the Billboard Hot 100 in the U.S., the track has attracted criticism from many for the sexually explicit subject matter, with “WAP” standing for “wet a*s p**sy.” But in an interview on Australia’s “The Kyle and Jackie O Show” on Monday (24Aug20), Cardi said it shouldn’t be listened to by children anyway.
“It’s like, no of course I don’t want my child (two-year-old daughter Kulture) to listen to this song and everything, but it’s like, it’s for adults,” she insisted.
Cardi also said that while some people might be shocked by the lyrics, they are actually “normal” to her.
“The people that the song bothers are usually like conservatives or really religious, fake religious people,” she sighed.
“I grew up listening to this type of music, so to other people it might be strange and vulgar, but to me it’s almost like really normal.”

  • Cardi B and Megan Thee Stallion's 'WAP' Almost Thrown Out by 'Scared' Label Bosses

The controversial ‘WAP’ collaboration between Cardi B and Megan Thee Stallion almost didn’t happen because label bosses were too scared to release the provocative single.
    Aug 21, 2020
AceShowbiz – Cardi B and Megan Thee Stallion’s chart-topping collaboration “WAP” was almost pulled by bosses at the rapper’s record label.
The provocative tune proved a hit with fans, topping the U.S. Billboard Hot 100, and its accompanying video, featuring stars including Normani and Kylie Jenner in a lavish mansion featuring butt sculptures, breast fountains, tigers and leopards, quickly went viral on social media.
But the “Bodak Yellow” star told Ash London Live that bosses at her record label, Atlantic Records, were unsure of the track when she first presented it to them.
“When they heard the song, they were like, ‘We really like it, but that song is so explicit’,” Cardi shared of the raunchy track, which has the full title Wet A*s P**sy.”
“And I guess they were asking around because even with YouTube we couldn’t use the explicit version. We had to use ‘wet and Gucci’ to keep it PG-13.”
She continued, “My label was really scared about the record. They were like, ‘Can you please get another record and you could put Megan on it?’ And I was like, ‘No.’ ”
Cardi also admitted she too began to get nervous about the track, confessing, “I kept asking people, ‘Am I saying p**sy too much?’ ”
